Abstract

Objective: Libraries provide relevant and reliable information through digital catalogs. However, in traditional catalogs, data are not connected or shared on the Web. Thus, it is necessary to revitalize them by using conceptual models, such as the IFLA Library Reference Model (LRM), and semantic formats for interoperability on the Web. This research, therefore, aims to discuss catalog modeling guided by the LRM and the use of Schema.org. Method: This study adopts a qualitative approach and, in terms of objectives, is exploratory and descriptive. Conclusions: The LRM guides modeling by considering alignment with standards within the scope of Linked Open Data. In this context, Schema.org is a viable semantic vocabulary that can be applied to the bibliographic domain, allowing for the integration of catalog data with the Web.
