Abstract

The editorial presents the launch of volume 7 (2026) of Ciência da Informação Express as a milestone in the journal’s editorial consolidation. It argues that scientific quality goes beyond intellectual content, encompassing editorial design, accessibility, standardization, and consistency—elements that are essential to the reading experience, inclusion (including for assistive technologies), and the international circulation of knowledge. The text describes the process of revising the journal template based on Information Design principles, highlighting formal decisions (single-column layout, visual hierarchy, contrast, and color standardization) as strategies to enhance accessibility and international compliance. These improvements are linked to the requirements for indexing and internationalization (DOAJ, Redalyc, SciELO), reinforcing their impact on visibility and metadata interoperability. The editorial also aligns visual enhancement with the principles of Open Science (transparency, reuse, and inclusion) and mentions the new logo as part of the modernization of the journal’s visual identity. It concludes that the volume materializes the journal’s institutional maturation and renews its commitment to quality, ethics, inclusion, and social impact.
