Call for Papers: Dossier on Institutional Experiences in Open Science
The journal Ciência da Informação Express, a scientific journal dedicated to the critical and applied discussion of topics related to Information Science, Scholarly Communication, and Open Science, invites universities and research institutions to submit an institutional report describing how Open Science has been implemented, developed, and institutionalized within their organizations.
The aim of this dossier is to bring together initiatives and diverse experiences that represent different realities, governance models, stages of institutional maturity, and strategies adopted in the field of Open Science or in the movements that comprise its pillars, thereby contributing to the scholarly debate and to the strengthening of open practices in national and international contexts.
The manuscript may be written in the authors’ preferred language and should be submitted starting in January 2026. It must be between 6 and 16 pages long and should analytically and descriptively address aspects such as institutional policies, strategies adopted, technological infrastructure, the involvement of libraries, sectors and responsible bodies, professionals involved, editorial policies, open data practices, training actions, incentives for Open Science, or any other relevant initiatives related to the theme within the institution.
To support the organization and writing of the report, we suggest the following guiding outline, which may be adapted according to the specificities of the institutional experience:
