Open Access
Chapter I – Open Access
Art. 1 The journal Ciência da Informação Express adopts the open access model according to the definition established by the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ).
Art. 2 All content published in the journal is made available to the public for free, openly, and immediately, without requiring user registration.
Sole paragraph. The adopted model aims to foster the global exchange of knowledge by ensuring that scientific research results are accessible without financial, technical, or time-related barriers.
Chapter II – Copyright
Art. 3 The copyrights of articles and interviews belong to the respective authors and/or interviewees.
Sole paragraph. Authors grant Ciência da Informação Express the right to include published content (peer-reviewed articles and postprints) in indexing systems, aggregators, and content curation tools.
Art. 4 Authors are allowed and encouraged to deposit their manuscripts:
I – on personal websites;
II – in thematic or institutional repositories;
III – in academic portals.
§1 Deposits may include both preprint and postprint versions.
§2 It is recommended that, whenever possible, the reference to the article includes the link/URL of the publication in Ciência da Informação Express.
Chapter III – Usage License
Art. 5 All works published in the journal are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license.
Art. 6 This license grants any user the following rights:
I – Share: copy, download, print, or redistribute the material in any medium or format;
II – Adapt: remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, even commercially.
Art. 7 The rights established in the previous article must respect the following terms:
I – Attribution: the user must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made;
II – No additional restrictions: legal terms or technological measures that legally restrict others from doing anything the license permits are not allowed.
Sole paragraph. Attribution must be made clearly and visibly, without implying that the licensor endorses the user or the use being made of the content.
Chapter IV – Publication Fees
Art. 8 The journal Ciência da Informação Express does not charge any fees related to:
I – manuscript submission;
II – editorial processing;
III – article publication.
Sole paragraph. The journal reaffirms its commitment to inclusive open access, without economic barriers for authors and readers.
Chapter V – Final Provisions
Art. 9 This policy is part of the editorial guidelines of Ciência da Informação Express and may be updated in accordance with the evolution of international practices in open science and scholarly publishing.
